Join Others Taking Part In Family And Community Preparedness
Despite the fact that we are seeing more extreme weather across the United States and increases in the costs of natural disasters, research shows that fewer than half of Americans have developed and discussed an emergency plan with their household.
One of the ways to protect your family and prepare for an emergency is to start with good communication. A family emergency communication plan is critical to making sure the entire family knows who to contact, how to reach each other, and where to meet up in an emergency.

America’s PrepareAthon!℠ is a campaign to get people better prepared for disasters through hazard-specific group discussions, drills and exercises. Assemble or Update Supplies
Drill or practice emergency response
Participate in a Class, Training or Discussion
Safeguard Documents
Document and Insure Property
Make property safer

Here are some ways to get prepared:
Sign up for local alerts and warnings from school, work or your local government.
Know how to get in touch with each other, especially if you happen to be in different locations—such as home, school or work—when disaster strikes.
Identify and practice meeting in a safe and familiar place where your family can go for protection or to reunite.
Have a wallet card with emergency numbers and an out-of-town point of contact.
Know the evacuation routes out of town.
We never know what the future will hold. We do know who holds the future. Just like we must live ready for disasters to happen where we live, we must be ready for spiritual disaster too. Why studying and reading the Bible is important. We never know Jesus may come back during the disaster. He may come during the calm of the storm. Before the storm or after. We are never promised tomorrow. We must live ready for the coming of Christ.

I talk about Fathers, Old TV Show Dads, Earthly Fathers and even our Heavenly Father. What Father do you remember from Television? #OldTVShowDads #TVDads #FathersDay #Dad #Father (Can you name some old tv show dads?)
Father’s Day Candy Bar Greeting Card – I saw this graphic on Facebook recently again. It has a greeting message on the card. Some of it written by hand and the other part uses a candy bar for the words. See the image below.
Christian acronym for the word “Father”. It is done like a free verse acrostic poem. You can even download a free version! Written by Steve Patterson. #Father #Dad #FathersDay #DadsAreAwesome #FatherAcronym
It’s so important to have a communication plan when an emergency strikes. You want to be able to know how to find each other so no one gets lost or scared. Thanks for sharing.
