Tetelestai is Greek word τετέλεσται meaning “it is finished”. The final words of Jesus as he was hanging on the Cross. #Tetelestai
Tetelestai τετέλεσται
It is Finished can also mean Paid In Full. Used in the Gospel of John Chapter 19, verses 30.
“It is finished!”
John 19:30
Jesus knew that it was completed the fulfillment of the Scriptures. After Jesus said that It is finished, He gave up the Spirit.
Tetelestai comes from the verb teleō, which means “to bring to an end, to complete, to accomplish.”

τελέω teleō (Strongs #G5055)
- to bring to a close, to finish, to end
- to perform, execute, complete, fulfill, (so that the thing done corresponds to what has been said, the order, command etc.)
- to pay
The word was also used in New Testament time to indicating that a bill had been paid in full.
“Receipts are often introduced by the phrase [sic] tetelestai, usually written in an abbreviated manner…” (p. 630). The connection between receipts and what Christ accomplished would have been quite clear to John’s Greek-speaking readership; it would be unmistakable that Jesus Christ had died to pay for their sins.
The Greek-English lexicon by Moulton and Milligan
Jesus Christ paid the debt we couldn’t pay. He died to save us from our sins.
We should note that Jesus did not say, “I am Finished!” He said It is Finished! He was stating He successfully completed the Work.
These last famous words of Jesus was said on Good Friday on the Cross of Calvary.

Yes!!!!! “It is Finished”
What is Finished? The fulfillment of the Law and Prophets that Prophesied his coming here to Earth to do
He did that, and it is the taking away of All sin, yet in this world, there is still much sin, so conflict has become of this by theologians
Using Matthew 5:17-18 it states he came here to take away Sin, yet in verse 18 it states the Law remains in place
Then in John 19:30 he states It is Finished!
So how can anyone see It Is Finished The Law, when Sin still rampant here in this world?
Those in belief, that continue in belief, no matter what troubles happen, might happen and even have happened!
John 16:33, we all go through troubles here on earth, and each and everyone make choices from these things that happen good or bad
Now Job was our first great story of not denying God, even though he went through many a troubles, he even had Job counselors that told him God was punishing him
Sound familiar from your Church gathering? If’s, If’s, If’s
Isn’t it God that forgives, and has in Son done this once for everyone?
Either we as people are forgiven or we are not, and if One does sin again, just that one from God, thanks to Son remain as Forgiven?
You Choose, I tell you this you remain forgiven from God Father’s view through Son for you
WHAT???????????????????????????????????????????????? Yes it might be time to respond to God, and say Thank You, then ask how to walk in his lead for you in risen Son for you
I bet you begin to see truth over error
Galatians 6, refers to this about flesh work that can’t do it verses 8-9 I think
Yet if one does right, it is not of himself, it is done through him by the risen Christ placed in you to do just as Son did back in the day before his dearth took away all sin, John 1:29
It is in the risen Christ where new life is, not in you changing to be looked at as good, as is taught in our Churches today
Love as Father and Son Love, let all else rest and see 1 Cor 13:1-3, man does, 4-7 God gives, 8-12, to let go of these works, verse 13 and just be LOVE for God is the one and only one that does love as in verses 4-7
So see David’s prediction’s in Psalms 100:4, and 103:12 it is either done or it is not, your choice, not mine or anyone else’s
Believe, see and be freed. yet this is not instantly, not usually
EVERYTHING was accomplished on the Cross. It finished it all.
