If I was dumped because of my commitment to abstinence that is God’s way of saying I have someone better to come along that will love you for you and knows the values of waiting till marriage.I know that when I have talked to women, and told them, they will either stop talking to me or some will try to get me to cave in. I am sad that it seems everyone wants self gratification that they believe you have to test drive or sample the goods as some say. No one wants a relationship based on love that is Christ-Centered, a true relationship. The type of relationship that God wants us to have. Where we put Christ before the other.
I want to say Tim Tebow, God has someone better in store for you. It is sad former Miss USA Olivia Culpo broke up with Tebow because of this commitment. That shows where she valued the relationship.
I like the graphic that is attached in the blog post, it says True Love Waits, Lust Don’t. That is so true, lust doesn’t show love. Lust shows you are giving into your flesh. You are seeking to satisfy what your flesh wants. That is why most people don’t want to wait until marriage.
If anyone isn’t willing to wait they are not the one for you.That just shows they are not the one because they want to compromise your beliefs. I always say a true friend will bring you closer to God, not away.
I also wouldn’t worry what others think about wanting to wait until marriage. What matters is what God thinks, after all we answer to Him not man!
I hope that I can be as strong as you Tebow. I am a divorced man and committed to abstaining. I want to wait until I remarry before I have sex again. I hope I can stay strong and stand my ground. If I lose someone, that is fine, because they didn’t truly respect me and my beliefs. I just know and trust God will have someone better for me anyways. Besides it is on God’s timing not ours when we find that “one”.
I hope and pray if you made a commitment to True Love Waits or abstinence that you can also stay firm on your beliefs like Tim Tebow.
God created sex to be good, but only in the bounds of marriage between one man and one woman. Not multiples nor of the same sex. But just the one man and one woman. They become one flesh. A commitment to abstain is a commitment not only to yourself and your future spouse, but to God, Himself.
The Bible is clear about those who commit adultery. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 shows us in the New King James version “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicator, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
