Christian joy isn’t an absence of afflictions, sorrow, or suffering. It’s way better. Christian joy is taking pleasure in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Joy for the Christian isn’t dependent upon circumstances that change, but upon a God who doesn’t. This truth allows us to rejoice even in the midst of our afflictions, sorrows, and suffering.
